HLD Group, together with Didier Tabary, President of Laboratoires Filorga and Laboratoires SVR, has finalized the acquisition of beauty brand Le Couvent des Minimes, specialized in colognes and natural and traditional skincare products.

Created in 2004, Le Couvent des Minimes was until now owned by the L’OCCITANE Group. The brand is currently marketed in 15 countries, mainly distributed in pharmacies and perfumeries. Inspired by plant-based skincare and well-being recipes, the brand’s star products are its Gardener’s Hand Healer and Hiker’s Foot Healer, along with its colognes.

Le Couvent des Minimes will join the beauty portfolio composed of SVR and Filorga, and will benefit from a presence in 85 countries, as well as significant commercial and production synergies.

For Didier Tabary, President of Laboratoires Filorga and SVR: “Le Couvent des Minimes is a natural and authentic brand that complements the Filorga and SVR brands, which specialize in anti-aging skincare and dermo-cosmetics. By bringing these brands together, we can also create commercial synergies, as they are sold via the same distribution channels. But above all, it’s the authentic and ethical aspects of the brand, as well as the botanical effectiveness of its products, that we are interested in. We have great ambitions for Le Couvent des Minimes, which has a very strong and unique brand DNA.”

For Jean-Bernard Lafonta and Jean-Philippe Hecketsweiler, founders of HLD: “Le Couvent des Minimes is a brand of the highest quality, renowned for its expertise and very popular with the public. Through this joint acquisition with Didier Tabary, we intend to unlock the high potential that exists between Filorga and SVR on the one hand, and Le Couvent des Minimes on the other, with highly complementary brand portfolios, and synergies – particularly commercial, industrial and R&D – that will soon bear fruit.”

For Reinold Geiger, Chairman and CEO of the L’OCCITANE Group: “This transfer of ownership will enable us to focus the work of our teams and our marketing investments on our most important brands: L’OCCITANE en Provence, L’OCCITANE au Brésil, Melvita and Erborian. HLD Group and Didier Tabary have already shown their know-how in terms of developing brands that are sold through selective distribution channels and pharmacies. This know-how will enable the Le Couvent des Minimes brand to continue its development in the very best conditions.”

About Didier Tabary and Filorga

In 2014, again with joint funding from HLD, Didier Tabary took over Laboratoires SVR – one of the last remaining dermo-cosmetic family companies in France.
